Master Gardeners are WSU Extension trained volunteers from all walks of life who enjoy sharing their gardening knowledge with others in our community to promote healthy landscapes, healthy foods and healthy lives.

In Island County, more than 80 Master Gardeners volunteer more than 6,000 hours annually through various educational outreach programs, while continuing their own horticultural education.

Our annual Gardening Workshop raises funds to support our community activities which include:

Annual spring Plant Sales on Whidbey and Camano islands offer veggie starts, native plants and ornamentals for our communities while raising funds to support our mission. 

 

The 2027 Workshop theme is Gardening for today . . . and the future! As our region experiences a changing climate, we want to learn what gardeners can do to have more productive gardens today and how they can leave the land healthier and more resilient for the future.

The Workshop offers classes for all levels of gardeners with a variety of gardening interests — plus demonstrations, Make-n-Take classes, and plant clinics.

​

The Marketplace features plants, books, tools, garden art, and information from local garden and environment related non-profits, as well as a Raffle with items provided by local merchants.
