The Island County Master Gardeners are excited to announce the 2022 Plant Sale, with expanded opportunities to purchase your plants either online or onsite at Whidbey Island and Camano Island locations – or both ways.

• Online buying: 5 days in mid-April

• Onsite sales: Saturday, May 7, 2022 at Greenbank Farm on Whidbey and Camaloch Chalet on Camano

In addition to veggie starts, shrubs, native plants, and perennials,
the onsite event will feature garden art, plant clinics, hanging baskets, and pop-up demonstrations.

The timing is perfect for Mother’s Day gifting and outings; keep your eye on the icmgf.org/events website for more information over the coming months.

The Whidbey Island Garden Tour is planning its 25th anniversary tour on Saturday, June 25, 2022. With spring giving way to summer color, late June is a lovely time to view this year’s six stunning tour gardens.

The WIGT team looks forward to sharing the tour gardens with the many gardeners who are excited to get out and see all the lovely plants in their glory. Please make plans to join them. For additional information go to the Whidbey Island Garden Tour website. Tickets go on sale January 15 and can be purchased on the website:  wigt.org

We love our volunteer work as Master Gardeners in the Island County community. Join us and become a Master Gardener yourself. Training involves in-person, collaborative classes, plus weekly online reading and homework assignments. Classes focus on familiarization with horticultural topics and learning how to use resources to research, educate, mentor, and answer horticulture questions for the public in a collaborative environment.

The next training will be Saturdays March 12 – May 21, 2022.

The Washington State University Extension program for Island County provides certified training. You don’t have to be an expert gardener to join. Visit the WSU Extension website for details on how to become a certified Master Gardener. https://extension.wsu.edu/island/gardening/mg
